Sphere vs chandelier, indoor vs outdoor, aluminium vs gold.
Is Fil de Fer a chandelier?
No. Fil de Fer is a woven sphere — floor or pendant — not a crystal chandelier. Gold Moon and Stchu-Moon are the Catellani chandelier families. If you need a clustered dining piece, we will send you to the right collection rather than hang a sphere over a long table.
Can I hang an indoor Fil de Fer floor lamp as a pendant?
No. Indoor floor SKUs are plug-driver floor lamps. Outdoor pendant SKUs (F5SIPL and related) are the hanging versions, with a different base, cable length, and driver. Mixing the two voids the intended rating. Choose the product page that matches how the lamp is mounted.
What is the difference between aluminium and gold Fil de Fer?
Aluminium uses natural wire and a grey cable; gold is anodized matt gold wire with a gold cable (indoor) or gold anodized sphere (outdoor). Gold SKUs are priced higher on the USA list (for example indoor Ø 50 cm aluminium $3,790 versus gold $4,030). Finish is selected on the product page, not mixed on one sphere.
Does outdoor Fil de Fer dim?
Current factory datasheets list outdoor floor and pendant drivers as not dimmable. Indoor floor lamps dim at the floor unit. If dimming is required on a terrace, say so in consultation — we will not promise a dimmable outdoor driver the datasheet does not list.
How do I order 110V for a New York or Caribbean project?
Tell us the destination at order. Indoor floor: 110–240V plug driver. Outdoor: 110 or 240V, not dimmable.
