This outdoor Fil de Fer floor lamp is the weather-rated sphere: woven aluminium, tiny interior LEDs, and an IP-rated driver in a black box — not the indoor plug-dimmer version. Diameters are Ø 50, 70, and 100 cm in natural aluminium or matt gold. USA retail is about $3,990 (Ø 50 cm aluminium, F5IPL) to $8,000 (Ø 100 cm gold, F10IPLG). The current datasheet lists the outdoor driver as not dimmable. Specify 110V or 240V for the destination before order.
Can I use this Fil de Fer on a New York terrace?
This SKU family (F5IPL, F5IPLG, F7IPL, F7IPLG, F10IPL, F10IPLG) is the outdoor floor lamp. Indoor floor codes will not carry the same rating. Salt air, wind, and uncovered exposure still need a designer check — especially on Caribbean terraces. Do not substitute an indoor F3L on a balcony.
Does the outdoor floor Fil de Fer dim?
Factory datasheets list the outdoor floor driver as not dimmable. Indoor floor lamps dim at the floor unit. If terrace dimming is required, say so in consultation rather than assuming the indoor dimmer transfers. Cable lengths on the datasheet are longer than the indoor version.
